Our client is seeking a tech savvy Accounting Manager with a focus on Accounts Receivable to join their finance team. This newly created position reports to the Controller and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to this successful organization. This is an on-site position due to its emphasis on leadership and cross collaboration, however there is flexibility as needed.

Our client is a leading wholesale distributor dedicated to providing top-quality products to their valued and growing customer base. As an Accounting Manager, you will play a critical role in managing the Accounts Receivable process, mentoring a small administrative staff, and supporting the financial close. The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional with a natural curiosity and interest in the details! This person will have a passion for process improvement via technology and best practices, while maintaining a proactive and collaborative approach.

Key Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager will include:

  • Managing and mentoring a small team, providing guidance and support in areas related to invoicing, payment application, and point of sale batch reconciliation.
  • Preparing budget reports, ad-hoc reports, and assisting with budgeting efforts.
  • Reviewing credit applicants and making credit decisions.
  • Generating and analyzing AR Aging reports, directing staff in collection efforts.
  • Utilizing data analysis skills to draw insights from data and make data-based recommendations-including creating Excel models and the knowledge of how/when to use what formulas.
  • Supporting the financial close process, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and reserve calculations.
  • Supporting the controller in financial statement preparation.
  • Updating and managing cost-to-serve reporting.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications of the Accounting Manager are:

  • Minimum of 5 years accounting experience, with a strong background in Accounts Receivable
  • Advanced working knowledge and experience using Excel, including advanced formulas, v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred, but not required with applicable experience.
  • Wholesale, Distribution, Manufacturing, CPG, Retail experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills.
  • Proactive approach, focused on collaboration and flexibility.
