Controller for a $50M annual revenue size division with a SUPER team to supervise (3)

  • This position will support the Corporate Controller and CFO by providing divisional financials on a monthly basis according to scheduled 4-day close and supporting cost accounting.
    • This Controller will manage the day-to-day supervision of the three person team including Accounting, Accounts Payable and Credit & Collections staff who are fantastic at what they do!
    • This is a highly visible role, working closely with leadership in the company at another office location.
  • Responsible for month-end close process including preparing monthly journal entries, account analysis and preparation of internal financial statements for division.
  • Monitor and review day-to-day company location AP,AR granting approvals and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets, implement policy and procedures in compliance with US GAAP
  • Be the main point of contact for external auditors in regard to the year-end financial statement audit with support of Sr. Accountant.
  • Treasury Management activities including but not limited to bank reconciliations, and related supporting information
  • Maintain company fixed assets schedule detailing cost, depreciation, accumulated depreciation, and track fix asset additions and disposals
  • Approve customer credit and monitor accounts receivable collection process
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Generate weekly Effectivity Reports by individual and department
  • Conduct an annual calculation and quarterly review of Direct Labor and Overhead rates
  • Calculate and/or review monthly profit margin analysis by customer and product line
  • Assist with various analysis as well as special accounting projects and technical accounting research
  • Provide commentary, variance explanations and ad hoc reports as needed ensuring financial results are reported and understood in a manner allowing strategic decisions to be effectively made

Desired experience for Controller:

  • Experience/credentials - most importantly able to work with procedures not completely defined, close has to be timely, work well with the team. Analytical and able to do what is necessary to problem solve.
  • Manufacturing industry 10+ years of progressively responsible experience
  • Cost accounting knowledge
  • CPA and/or MBA a plus
