COLLECTIONS SPECIALIST

ABOUT THE COMPANY: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business-to-Business Collections Specialist to assist in managing our accounts receivable process. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in collections, possess exceptional communication skills, and excel in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to our financial success while working in a collaborative and supportive team.

OVERVIEW OF THE COLLECTIONS SPECIALIST ROLE:

  • Contact and engage with business clients to collect outstanding payments.
  • Resolve billing and payment discrepancies.
  • Monitor accounts to identify delinquent payments and initiate appropriate actions.
  • Collections Specialist develops and maintains positive relationships with clients to facilitate payment collection.
  • Investigate and resolve payment disputes and issues in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and send collection letters and follow-up emails.
  • Maintain accurate records of all collection activities
  • Collections Specialist collaborates with the accounting and sales teams to ensure proper account reconciliation.
  • Provide regular reports on collection activities and progress to management.
  • Identify process improvements and suggest strategies to reduce outstanding debts.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR COLLECTIONS SPECIALIST ROLE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in finance or a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in business-to-business collections or a similar role.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
  • Collections Specialist must be proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to collections is a plus.
