Junior Accountant

This nonprofit organization is currently in search of a strong and collaborative Junior Accountant to join the team.

Located in central SA and in a laid-back environment, the Junior Accountant will be responsible for recording and analyzing financial transactions, monitoring financial reports, and assisting in reconciliations.

Responsibilities of the Junior Accountant:

• Monitor and analyze restricted scholarship and fund accounts.
• Reconcile development records to the university financial statements.
• Work closely with budget managers to establish budgets and handle procedural matters.
• Assist in the reconciliations of accounts.
• Review and approve related transactions.
• Assist with maintaining files, reports, and invoices.
• Perform other related duties.

The Junior Accountant should be able to:

• Use Microsoft Office Applications: databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
• Meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Interpret and analyze financial documents and reports.
• Apply accounting principles and practices to non-profit/governmental accounting.

What type of background is needed from the Junior Accountant?

• Bachelor's degree
• 2+ years of accounting experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated knowledge of non-profit/governmental accounting and budgeting.
• Proficiency in computer system applications.
