Responsibilities of Financial Accounting Analyst:

• Maintain general ledger and all sub-ledgers accurately and timely by daily, weekly, monthly and yearly posting and reconciliation.
• Assist in maintaining current and accurate supporting schedules to the general ledger including depreciation, accounts receivable, accounts payable, etc.
• Prepare and post all recurring monthly journal entries related to all assigned accounts including accounts receivable, depreciation and fringe expense.
• Coordinate with Finance Staff to reconcile monthly assigned bank accounts to general ledger and sub-ledger balances.
• Work with Finance Staff to track, post and reconcile debit card usage with daily bank account reviews and the collection of the required forms with proper backup attached.
• Open all mail related to any type of revenue received. Record on appropriate log and send copy to appropriate party for entry into EHR billing system, Fundraising software, or Financial Software.
• Reconcile funds collected on a weekly basis ensuring proper backup has been received in preparation for transfer to Accounts Payable Clerk for final bank deposit.
• Monitor balances on all cash accounts daily. Inform Controller when transfers are recommended, or transactions need review.
• Ensure timely month end closing of all general ledger accounts for the generation of monthly financial reports.
• Provide backup support to Finance Staff as needed.
• Assist with all monthly, quarterly, and annual billing for all miscellaneous grant awards.
• Prepare and participate in yearend audit conducted by external auditors.
• Maintain confidential and/or any other required program documents.
• Work collaboratively as a member of a team with other professionals and concerned parties and actively participate in training and staff meetings.
• Other such duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Preferred Experience of Financial Accounting Analyst:

• Able to maintain the utmost confidentiality of both agency and client matters.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Maintain a level of adequate productivity as determined by your supervisor.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Must have demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), be able to interpret balance sheets and profit/loss reports, grant award management and write and implement financial management.
• Must have working knowledge of computers including accounting software packages and worksheet applications. Blackbaud Financial Edge or similar, a plus
• Experience in not-for-profit field. Strong oral and written communication required.
