The Director of Finance is responsible for all financial programmatic activities and matters of the assigned agency/agencies. The job duties of the Director of Finance include all activities needed to run the financial, human resources, and administrative management. Under the direction of the Board Treasurer and the Management Team, this person will work closely with the program leadership to implement strategies for programmatic financial sustainability. This position will have strong accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis, and a solid understanding of the IRS regulations governing nonprofits organizations. Position Responsibilities: Ability to reconcile/maintain GL and subledgers Ability to maintain aged receivables Maintain the journal entries for Depreciation and Investments Establish meetings with the Program Directors on a monthly basis to ensure understanding of financial stability of program. Maintain approvals for all Fund/Grant invoicing and billing Maintain record retention of all financial grant information Ensure segregation of duties between staff on tasks Assist in data collection for audit Help maintain accounting records based on the accrual basis of accounting in accordance with GAAP. Journal entries – preparation and recording Monthly reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts Maintain Credit Card transactions entries and approvals Oversee journal entries for Credit Card Transactions Oversee Bank Reconciliations Maintain the requests from Grants department for grant submission Prepare Quarterly and Annual reporting (ad hoc). Significant and non-routine transactions Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others. Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization

Requirements

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or business-related field. 10+ years of non-profit preferred. Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office products; A solid grasp of General Accepted Accounting Principles and Non-Profit Accounting; Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team; Must have good written and verbal skills; Must have good critical thinking and problem solving skills.
