This position is responsible for providing advanced Health Monitoring, Troubleshooting, and System Maintenance for the Distributed Services servers and systems. The Distributed Services department is responsible for over 600 servers, both physical and virtual, over 100 Microsoft SQL Database, over 150 business applications and over 70 branches throughout the Eastern United States.
Principle Activities and Duties:
*Provide Level 2 technical support and assist with Level 1
*Escalation of issues to Level 3 after appropriate SLA.
*Monitor the operating system environment, troubleshoot and maintain system integrity.
*Provide advanced troubleshooting of server, operating system and application related issues.
*Assists Level 3, and guides Level 1 to perform detailed system design, configuration, implementation, documentation and support.
*Prioritize IT request and issues from conception through implementation.
*Participate in the server build, maintenance, and turndown process.
*Assist with the implementation of emerging technologies and systems.
*High interactions with other team members and business unit personnel.
*Participate in disaster recovery testing.
*Familiarize, gain experience, and comply with change control procedures.
*Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field is required. Will accept professional experience in lieu of education.
*Minimum of five years' experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems Installation and Configuration is required.
*Minimum of four years' experience with Server Virtualization management is preferred.
*Minimum four years of Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop, and NetScaler implementation and design experience required.
*Minimum of two years' experience of Remote Software Deployment and IT automation including scripting is required.
*Fundamental understanding of Active Directory is required.
*Fundamental knowledge of networking protocols, especially TCP/IP is preferred.
*Fundamental knowledge of Terminal Server, File\Print Server, VPN Software, DNS, and DHCP is preferred.
*Fundamental understanding of infrastructure: including firewalls (local), databases, malware protection software and other processes is preferred.
*Fundamental understanding of security concepts preferred, in particular PII, PCI, SOX, and GLBA.
*Must have the ability to lift 25 pounds.
*Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
*Must be able to work in a team.
*Must possess a valid driver's license.
