Job Summary: Maintains and controls the General Ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records. Balancing the bottom line with multiple budget priorities and revenue streams.

* Assist with the daily, monthly and year-end operations of the Accounting Department
* Record monthly journals, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and performing monthly variance analysis on financial performance
* Assist in external audit requests and deliverables
* Supports the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions and ensure that all invoices and staff reimbursements are paid accurately and in accordance with Finance policies
and procedures
* Manage the processing of cash and check receipts, recording of revenue and receivable
* Review expense coding to ensure compliance
* Review Amex credit card statements and expense reports and receipts submitted by cardholders on monthly basis
* Perform the processing of functional and benefits expense allocations, monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation and recording of adjusting and
reclassification journal entries, if necessary
* Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets,
employer's benefit costs, accruals and prepaid expenses.
* Prepare and analyze the monthly budget/forecast to actual variance reports
* Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements, budget performance,
and interim financial reporting
* Maintain the Fixed Asset and associated depreciation schedules; provide monthly detail to the Accounting Manager for General Journal entries; insure proper recording of new purchases and disposals
* Maintain Purchase Order Processing system
* Manage employee credit card applications and limit reviews
* Prepare labels and maintain files as needed within the department
* Prepare correspondence as needed within the department
* Manage petty cash accounts
* Assist in tracking and maintaining company insurance policies
* Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time - quite often on short notice
* Consistently reviews vendors for best value
* Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
