ABOUT THIS ROLE

While working closely with our Accounting and Human Resources Team the Staff Accountant with our client will manage the payroll process, perform reconciliation of bank statements, reconcile benefit statements/billings, and work closely with General Ledger Accounts. The staff accountant will oversee company credit cards, assist the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable team, and support the accounting team with various accounting/financial functions. To be successful you will have a background in bookkeeping, tax filings, and payroll.  The ability to collaborate, come up with new innovative solutions to current payroll processes, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment is necessary. 

 

DUTIES INCLUDE

  • Review and process bi-weekly payroll using ADP Workforce
  • Perform various reconciliations including bank statements, prepaids, accruals and other general ledger accounts
  • Review and reconcile company credit cards including collaborating across departments to obtain necessary support
  • Handle bookkeeping for multiple related entities:  retreading operation, logistics and single asset real estate holdings using QuickBooks
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close
  • Assist A/P team with vendor statement reconciliations, invoice, and payment processing
  • Support various business filings including sales tax, business property tax, registration, and FET.
  • Participate in process improvement and automation initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned by management

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • Minimum of five years relevant work experience 
  • Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and VLOOKUP is required
  • Experience with ADP Workforce and QuickBooks
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, especially Microsoft Business Central D365 software is preferred
  • Must have prior experience working in an inventory-based environment (retail, manufacturing, or distribution – multiple locations ideal)
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize and manage a demanding workload involving multiple tasks with competing priorities, responsibilities and tight deadlines with follow-through and minimal supervision
  • Proven communication (verbal and written) skills including active listening and ability to explain things clearly and effectively
  • Strong sense of ownership and willing to tackle challenges in a continuously changing environment
  • Personality to work in a dynamic environment across all levels of management and functions
  • Self-motivated and self-managed – confidence to think and work independently, but responsive to team environment and collaboration

  • This position will work out of our Fairfield, California Corporate location.

  • Ability to lift to 35 pounds
  • Work flexible/varying schedule to support the team, customers, and deadlines
