Large contractor with commercial and government contracts is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to be own the finance responsibilities of an extremely important project. The Senior Project Accountant will report to the Finance Manager. The Senior Project Accountant will interact with customer regularly and manage the finances, accounting and contract compliance for a large multi-year construction project. Primary responsibilities include: - Produce monthly billing for each active contract for assigned jobs, ensuring compliance with the contract. - Resolve billing concerns with GC/owner and to ensure timely payment of invoices. Post invoices in customers' invoicing system and company accounting system - Book month end financial adjustments for all assigned jobs. Assist with the creation of divisional month end reporting. - Work closely with project management team to ensure desired results - Work closely with project management team to ensure proper allocation of costs between multiple contracts at the same job location. - Review cost ledgers on weekly/monthly basis and enter adjustments into accounting system as needed - Assist with cost, pricing and review of change orders to verify accuracy and adherence to federal cost accounting standards - Assist in managing 3rd party sub-contractors. Ensure 3rd party labor employees are completing company timesheets on a weekly basis and invoices are approved by company and vendor promptly - Meet monthly with PM and field management staff to validate estimated project costs to complete for active jobs - Provide 12 month and 24 month revenue and gross profit projections on a monthly basis and review with Program Manager - Assist PM in preparation for effective monthly Key Project Reviews, Gate Checks in producing required monthly reports (cost forecast, manpower, cash flow, change order log, risk matrix and procurement log). - Monitor contract compliance and customer reporting My client is an exceptional organization with a tenured leadership team that offers professional development and growth, competitive compensation and benefits, work life balance, interesting projects and a very good culture. Requirements

Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance - 3+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience with a construction company or government contracting firm (i.e. cost accounting, budgeting/projections, cash flow, revenue recognition, profitability) - Outstanding verbal and written communication skills - history of effective collaboration with team members/clients - Track record of being a problem solver and self-starter - Proficient with Microsoft Excel (data manipulation) - Able to primarily work form Washington DC with travel to McLean, VA - Must be able to obtain/maintain a US DOD security clearance Please submit your CV/resume to Lee Chernett, AVP at Robert Half Finance & Accounting, to [Click Here to Email Your Resumé].
