Staff Accountant

Summary: Our international and employee-focused client in Charlotte is seeking a Staff Accountant for a direct position on their growing team! This position will start out remote and will eventually be on-site with a hybrid work schedule. The company offers an extensive training program, growth opportunities, great benefits, a team atmosphere and a flexible schedule!

Location: Charlotte, NC - Airport area – (will be REMOTE to start for a few months and then will be a hybrid remote/on-site schedule) Must be fully vaccinated before working onsite

Opportunity: Direct Hire

Compensation: $60,000 - $65,000

Benefits:

  • 401K : 50% company match on the $1 up to 6% - company pays $0.35 on the $1 up to 6% with the option to provide an additional $0.15 (which typically always gets pays out)

Job Duties:

  • Ensure monthly profit and loss statements are an accurate reflection of the results of the period
  • Prevent earnings management through appropriate use and validation of journal entries
  • Ensure balance sheet accounts reflect the correct balance and are reviewed and reconciled monthly
  • Analyze profit and loss statement and balance sheet for possible mis-statement/defalcation Use all available tools to maintain highest degree of internal control possible
  • Review contracts to identify and interpret financial obligations
  • Ensure compliance to contract terms and commitments including, commissions, volume allowances, profit splits etc.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, payments, and reconciliations for such contractual obligations
  • Ensure accounting conforms to company accounting policies and procedures manual based on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Partner with internal departments such as Corporate Accounting, Legal, Technical Accounting & Audit, STG, etc., as well as Field Finance and Operations management
  • Create and maintain checklists to ensure compliance with contractual terms

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a Concentration in Accounting
  • 1+ years of general ledger accounting experience
  • Experience with pivot tables and vlookups in Excel
  • Experience reviewing and/or interpreting contract agreements is a plus
  • Ability to work under pressure of tight deadlines
  • Must be a quick learner and self-motivated, and resilient
