Adam Wood with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is assisting a leading global entertainment company with their search for an outstanding Financial Analyst. The Financial Analyst will be primarily responsible for maintaining accurate budgets and forecasts of Gaming division operating expenses. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to understand data trends and cost drivers and to incorporate findings into accurate forecast models; the ability to provide outstanding service to multiple internal clients is also paramount. This position will work in tandem with other finance analysts and managers, as appropriate, to ensure the accurate financial tracking of R&D projects and support other gaming finance projects and ad hoc requests as needed. The Financial Analyst duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: (i) Performs monthly budget to actual comparisons, including being able to articulate key reasons why variances exist, and reviews analysis with internal clients (budget accountability owners); (ii) Monitors the month-end close process and works closely with accounting to ensure accuracy and alignment to plan; (iii) Supports operational leaders in developing annual budgets and continuous forecasts by creating, maintaining, and helping to populate forecasting templates; (iv) Ensures headcount forecasts in Hyperion Planning are in sync with Workday and Oracle HRIS systems and budget templates; (v) Works with operational leaders to align business strategies with R&D efforts; (vi) Assists with creation of presentation materials to communicate financial results; (vii) Works with Accounting personnel on special accounting and non-accounting projects; (viii) Supports FP&A management with special projects and ad hoc requests that require financial and operational analysis; (ix) Assists in the analysis of financial data and extracts and defines relevant information; (x) Interprets data for the purpose of determining past financial performance or to project future performance; and (xi) Adheres to generally accepted accounting principles and similar financial regulations. The Financial Analyst has a Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting or related field, and at least 2-3 years of accounting and/or finance experience.
