Growing Financial Service client has partnered with Robert Half to hire a Director or Finance, Governance, and Controls. The Director, Finance Governance and Controls, will be instrumental in helping ensure a strong control awareness and environment across the company. He/she will be responsible for executing and managing key Finance initiatives including: 1)SOX Compliance ? responsible for establishing, maintaining, and supporting the execution internal controls framework for financial reporting 2)Governance - Provides transparency into Financial risks and controls to management, committees, and the board in a timely manner. Responsible for managing the Disclosure Committee including roles and responsibilities, meeting cadence, materials, and all related activities. Also accountable for escalating to the proper level when designated thresholds are reached, so that management can decide how to best address and mitigate financial risks. Also responsible for policy, process, and procedure governance, development, and maintenance 3)Finance Training and Communications ? Responsible for developing and executing a strategy and plan for Finance training and communications. Initial training will be focused on new tools/processes and how to control financial risk, highlighting the importance of a strong financial control environment. Controlling financial risk is ?Our Job, Everyday? 4)Participation in 2nd Line Working Group ? responsible for representing Finance as the 2nd line of defense, ensuring control program alignment, using a common framework, single language (risk taxonomy), universal scoring methodology, etc. 5)Finance Regulatory Liaison - Liaison between Internal Audit, ERM, Legal, Compliance, and regulators 6)In addition, this role will support the Finance team in delivering special projects, initiatives, and represent Finance on cross functional projects The ideal Director of Finance, Governance, and Controls will have 10+ years of experience and must have recent financial services experience, previous experience in big 4 accounting is highly preferred. The Director of Finance, Governance, and Controls must have a CPA and have experience working at publicly traded company.
