My client is a decentralized, larger government contractor specializing in international development. They are in search of a Senior Project Accountant to assist their accounting group. Responsibilities include: • Project accounting administration, including contract review for project set-up and invoicing, analysis and review of Estimates to Complete and reconciliation of project financial data for contractual compliance and against unbilled balances • Prepare timely and accurate project invoices; follow up on overdue AR balances • Prepare indirect rate variance invoices in accordance with Negotiated Indirect Cost Rate Agreement • Review expense claims for accuracy and compliance with contractual, US Government, foreign governments and other pertinent regulations • Review and approve expenditures (vendor invoices/field office submissions) • Assist Project Managers with financial planning and reviews, including updating budgets, compiling cost-to-complete estimates, performing revenue variance analysis, monitoring financial risks at the project level, and estimating quarterly spending costs for client accruals • Train new Project Managers and Chief of Parties on client billing, and internal financial reporting • Provide financial updates and financial advice to project teams during weekly meetings • Assist with expatriate allowance calculations Senior Project Accountant Perform audit support for internal and external clients • Assist internal clients with Oracle timekeeping and expense inquiries; audit expense reports • Monitor non billable costs, change orders and adjust the Revenue and Costs Budgets accordingly

Requirements

Essential components required (experience, skills, education, & certification): • 3 years of relevant work experience in government project accounting • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required or equivalent job experience including an understanding of and experience with indirect rate cost structures • Experience with Deltek Costpoint • Intermediate or Advanced Microsoft Excel skills • Ability to work with complex data and assess, interpret, and apply government and commercial contract terms, requirements, and specifications All interested applicants please reply directly to Ty Smith at [Click Here to Email Your Resumé] or contact me at 202.626.0280.
