SUMMARY OF POSITION:Reporting directly to the Controller, the Sr. Accountant position is responsible for supporting the Controller in the direction, supervision and development of the Accounting team. The selected candidate will be responsible for a broad spectrum of activities, including:Leading monthly close process to issue timely (monthly, quarterly, annual) and complete financial statements in accordance with GAAPAnalyzing accounts and investigating variancesAssist business line managers with understanding of budget discrepancies and assist with the development of reporting that allows business line managers to analyze their results.Continuously analyze information/data and provide recommendations regarding potential cost savings and profit generating opportunities.Monitoring and assessing on-going internal process to push for efficiency, automation and accuracy of financial management and financial systemsSupporting external auditsFacilitating the driving of accounting initiatives and a variety of financial analyses and special projectsAssisting the Controller with planning and development of the monthly forecast and annual budgetSKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to understand and follow TECT’s quality system requirementsAbility to meet TECT job requirements and customer requirementsExcellent interpersonal and teamwork skills and abilitiesAbility to work with a diverse group of individualsComputer skillsUnderstanding of mathematics to meet the requirements of the jobExcellent English: verbal and written communication skillsDetail orientedExcellent organizational skillsStrong leadership skills

Requirements

.PRIOR EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIALIZED OR TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience; 4 years related experience preferred
  • Good understanding of Profit / Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow.
  • Must have experience working with ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Self-motivated with good presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and collaborate across disciplines and locations.
