Senior Financial Analyst

SUMMARY

The Senior Financial Analyst providing primary financial support for operations and manufacturing and will be responsible for all aspects of operational finance. This role requires experience across the disciplines of financial planning and analysis, project planning and setup, manufacturing cost accounting, product lifecycle costing, profitability variance and backlog reporting. Engage with operational management and business area leadership to drive better decision making, better forecasting, and overall program profitability.  Provides analytical and decision support to operational management.   Drive inventory improvement and partner with supply chain to support decisions by product line.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Support financial analysis of operations. 

  • Variance analysis.

  • Drive spending reductions / targets / prioritization.

  • Prepare business case for operational area investments.

  • Prepares and analyzes reports on key performance indicators of the manufacturing business unit including cost per unit, the value of production, volume per headcount, reconciling contract profitability, etc.

  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis for management. 

  • Monitor and challenge Business Area financial performance. 

  • Collect and enter financial and other performance data (KPI’s). 

  • Providing recommendations to managers and leadership by analyzing and interpreting data and making a comparative analysis. 


OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Prior experience working on cross-functional teams.

  • Sound technical skills and an ability to work both at a detailed level and higher review level. 

  • MS Office skills including PowerPoint and advanced Excel.

  • Experienced in building constructive, value-adding relationships with program management teams and business area leaders. 

  • Experience in a deadline driven environment where quality must be maintained.   

  • Confidence and communications skills to work effectively at all levels of the organization. 

  • Executive presence to operate and influence at a senior level

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EDUCATION EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


  • Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance from a four-year college or university and 3-5 years related experience is required.

  • Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business preferred.

  • Prior experience working on cross-functional teams.

  • Sound technical skills and an ability to work both at a detailed level and higher review level. 

  • Strong presentation skills.

  • MS Office skills including PowerPoint and advanced Excel.

  • Experienced in building constructive, value-adding relationships with program management teams and business area leaders. 

  • Experience in a deadline driven environment where quality must be maintained. 

  • Confidence and communications skills to work effectively at all levels of the organization. 

  • Professional presence to operate and influence at a senior level.

  • Government accounting experience – especially CAS compliance is helpful.


COMPUTER SKILLS


  • Must be a proficient user of Microsoft Office software.
