Compensation: $80,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year
Our client, a privately owned construction company has an immediate opening for a Construction / Project Controller. This Controller position is the #1 financial position for the company and works directly for the company owner. This role will manage a small staff and be responsible for the accounting and financial reporting functions of a $50M organization. Responsibilities for the Controller include the following: * Manage and provide guidance regarding day to day activities within various accounting groups including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and corporate accounting. * Oversee and ensure all accounting controls, methods and procedures are being followed in these respective areas. * Develop and strengthen accounting policies and procedures* Prepare month end journal entries and account reconciliations * Prepare and analyze the monthly variance analysis including identifying and investigating all unusual or material variances * Assist with the preparation of the month end financial statements and ensure that they are prepared in accordance with GAAP * Comply with local, state and government reporting requirements tax filings * Aid in the preparation of audit schedules for the Company's year-end financial audit *Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports To be considered for this Controller position you MUST have the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business. 7+ years of experience in accounting a must. Experience in the construction, job cost, work in process accounting, or similar is a huge plus. Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll experience.
