Procurement Manager

We are seeking a Procurement Manager to manage procurement activities for the Company, which is multi-site. The right person will establish policies and departmental procedures while strategically identifying new materials, equipment and product opportunities. The role will also require sourcing of supplies by receiving and analyzing quotations and proposed bids. Negotiates purchasing contracts, monitors vendor quality and maintains necessary records and documentation. Duties: • Proactively manages procurement activities, ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods at fair prices through negotiation. Ensure the reliability and effectiveness of the ordering and receiving process of supplies, equipment and office supplies as they are requested by all locations. • Foster communication and positive relationships with vendors, key supplier contacts and external suppliers. Works to resolve discrepancies with vendors as needed. • Request suppliers to make bids, complete with price lists of ordered products and reviewing bids to choose a reliable supplier with the best price. • Review purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy, and investigates any issues before contacting vendors. Tracks orders and maintains accurate purchase records and coordinates the purchase and subsequent delivery of the goods. • Monitor the performance of contracted suppliers and keeps management updated on the performance of various suppliers, and recommends appropriate actions. • Maintain records of procurement documents, such as purchase orders, bid proposals and vendor reviews. • Oversee the submission of data from all offices for the twice yearly inventory process. • Work with senior management on projects requiring Purchasing Department input or assistance. • Train, supervise and evaluate performance of assigned staff. • Build and develop staff and team members to meet both their career goals and the organization's needs. Provide staff with the training, mentoring and resources necessary to carry out the assigned work of the department and to develop into a cohesive team. • Ensure performance goals, expectations and standards are understood by supervised staff and evaluate employees' performance on an on-going basis and take appropriate action if needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business or relevant field 5 or more years of related management experience with demonstrated expertise in purchasing, negotiations and leadership Knowledge of: • Staff development and training methodologies. • Accounting principles and purchasing methods and procedures. • Spreadsheets and reporting tools. • ERP, MS Office, online ordering and order tracking systems. Skill in: • Purchasing and negotiations. • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders. • High level of customer service. Ability to: • Build teams to apply diverse skills to achieve common goals. • Think strategically and guide the company's procurement processes in a proactive manner. • Show professionalism and build strong partnerships inside and outside of the organization. • Convey complex issues in simple terms to all levels of the organization. • Read, understand and interpret contract documents. • Communicate clearly and concisely in written and spoken English. • Analyze information, problem solve and make recommendations for resolution.
