Accountemps is seeking a Payroll Administrator who can process payroll and is proficient with Microsoft Office applications to fill a role with a company in the Retail field. This Payroll Administrator opportunity is located in Henrico, Virginia and is a long-term temporary role. What you get to do every single day - Handle payroll record updates by keeping changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers - Collect and analyze information including resolving payroll discrepancies - Calculate employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments to establish payroll liabilities - Providing payroll information by answering questions and requests - Report changes where necessary after maintaining payroll operations via company policies and procedures - Exercise review and verification of source documents - Handle other duties as necessary - Facilitate company compliance according to federal and state regulations and guidelines - Provide help with all internal and external audits of payroll - Execute relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports to circulate amongst department heads - Protect confidential payroll operation information and maintain employee confidence - Proper payroll information maintenance by collecting, calculating, and entering data - Manage issues related to employee deductions and other liabilities, including reconciling - Draft reports by organizing all summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages

Requirements

- 2+ years of relevant experience in payroll - Knowledge of bi-Monthly Payroll - HRIS Payroll System experience - Full Cycle Payroll experience - Automated Payroll experience desired - Deep understanding of benefits payroll - Proficient knowledge of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen - Understanding of internal controls - Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills - Experience with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc. - Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements - Preference will be given to Certified Payroll detail oriented - Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data - Prior experience using accounting software
