What you get to do every day - Review source documents with necessary verification - Provide assistance as necessary for all internal and external audits related to payroll - Compile all information in reference to summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages for reports - Handle specific weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports for department heads - Manage payroll information requests and questions - Payroll information management via collecting, calculating, and entering data - Calculate employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments and employee federal and state income and social security taxes to determine payroll liabilities - Ensure employee confidence by protecting payroll operations and confidential information - Enter changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers as part of managing payroll records - Handle other duties as necessary - Resolve payroll discrepancies via information collection and analysis - Certify compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines - Follow established policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations and report changes as necessary - Manage employee deductions and other liabilities

Requirements

- Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills - 5+ years of relevant experience in payroll - Earlier experience working with various types of accounting software desired - Knowledge of workers compensation - Comprehensive knowledge of 401k - RRSP Administration - Experience with Payroll Functions - Strong familiarity with benefits administration - Payroll Functions experience - Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills - Proficient with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc. - Preference will be given to Certified Payroll detail oriented - Well-informed in basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen - Excellent data entry skills - Mastery of internal controls - Mastery of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements If you are interested in this position, please contact Drew Johnson at 757-624-1100 or email [Click Here to Email Your Resumé]
