Part-Time Administrative Assistant/Accounting Clerk - SOUTH SHORE

Creative Financial Staffing is working with a Rockland, MA based manufacturing company to identify an office administrator/accounting coordinator to join their team. This is a part time position and is perfect for a parent looking to work while their child is in school, someone looking to get back into the workforce or for someone who is retired and isn't completely ready to step out of the workforce. The Controller is seeking an individual who has strong interpersonal skill. They do NOT require an accounting background; however, they are looking for someone who is interested in taking on accounting responsibilities (the Controller will train).

Qualifications:




  • Must be adaptable, organized, and articulate.

  • Have a thorough understanding of general office procedures and demonstration of effective communication skills.

  • Proficient use of computers, business software, and office equipment.

  • Willingness to learn basic accounting.

Requirements

  • The responsibilities include but are not limited to:


    Office Administration:


    • Greet all visitors entering the building. Direct all parties to the right employee.

    • Operate switchboard equipment.

    • Communicate with employees, vendors, and customers in a professional and courteous manner.

    • Screen incoming calls as per instruction from individual managers.

    • Record accurate messages and provide to appropriate parties timely.

    • Maintain automatic phone messages as required (shut-down, inclement weather etc.)

    • Obtain and distribute any General Mailbox messages.




    Accounting Duties:


    • Manage all aspects of Accounts Payable, which includes entering invoices into the system, match, batch and code the invoices, preparing and sending vendor payment & maintaining the AP vendor files.

    • Assist in maintaining all accounting reports, registers, and period-end documents.

    • Provide source or back-up documents as required by others
