Maintenance Mechanic II - Chambersburg Pa.

Description

Basic Function

Perform skilled trade duties in the operation, maintenance and repair of buildings, related equipment and systems.  Position involves lifting and carrying items weighing approximately 90lbs., working on scaffolding, climbing ladders, bending and stooping.

Responsibilities

Electrical - Maintain and repair circuits, wiring and electrical signs; replace switches, receptacles, ballasts, circuit breakers, motors, fans and lights.

Plumbing - Maintain and repair plumbing fixtures, lavatories, faucets, sinks, water heaters, supply and drain lines, irrigation and sprinkler systems.

Carpentry - Maintain and repair walls, interior/exterior trim, ceilings, doors, floors, fences and gates.  Repair minor roof leaks and glaze windows.

HVAC - Inspect and replace filters/belts as necessary, condensate drip pans kept clean and operational, maintain proper water levels in boilers, blowdown boilers and pneumatic compressors, maintain thermostats, time clock settings and energy management systems.

General work - Perform common painting, concrete repairs, clean parking lots, landscapes, storm drains, repair potholes, trim grass/shrubs, shovel snow and salt walkways and inspect fire extinguishers.

Ensure that the electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems are operating properly.  Provide a safe and comfortable environment for employees and customers.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED   Valid state driver's license.  Vocational training or equivalent work experience.  Five years' electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC maintenance and repair experience.  Skilled in the operation and maintenance of related trade tools and test equipment.  Basic hand and power tools ie: ladders, roto hammers, sawzall.  Good knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical and general building maintenance.  Some knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems maintenance, building codes.  Responsible for maintaining the fluid levels in the bank van, making sure that the registration and inspection are current and keeping the van in a clean condition.
