Investment Accountant

Compensation: $65,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year

My client is an outsourced CIO. They are currently hiring for a Fund Accountant. This individual will be responsible for supporting the management of institutional investment portfolios. This group also plays a critical role ensuring that cash and positions are accurately reflected in Strategic?s internal systems, but also with external third-party custodians and other parties. They are searching for an efficient individual with an accounting and/or finance background and a desire to learn the many facets of operational support in a collegial team environment. Responsibilities include: Prepare investment transactions for approval and execution and assist in the automation of the process Support the use of the reconciliation program including updating the internal files and reviewing portfolio transactions and cash. Review of daily and monthly client transactions versus their custodian(s). Liase between portfolio managers and custodians for all portfolio-specific activity and issues, ensuring communication of critical information. Discover, research and resolve transactional discrepancies. Development of investment roll-forward position reports for use by clients? accounting groups. Assist in the coordination of client investment transitions and new investment and manager setup,including custodians, prime brokers and counterparties. Recording client transactions and cash activities into transaction system. Identify opportunities for process improvement.

Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements: ? Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other related discipline. Fund Accountant? 1-3 years of work experience in an investment operations or portfolio management support role. Fund or partnership accounting experience a plus. Experience with external financial custodians a plus. Microsoft Excel proficiency. Ability to learn and master various software programs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Team player and client-service oriented. High attention to detail and accuracy. Solid organizational and time-management skills.
