If you are an outstanding Financial Analyst, you might be right for the position Robert Half Finance is filling for a fast-growing company. In this Financial Analyst position, you will conduct financial modeling on various financial products as well as measure, analyze, and forecast performance in conjunction with operating plans. You will also be responsible for advising management on the distribution of resources to best complete objectives and preparing reports for management. As a key business partner on a dynamic team, you will work in areas including forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. In the Financial Analyst role, your primary areas of focus will include supporting world class strategic and financial planning methods, building long-range operating plans to support business imperatives and developing rolling forecast processes to ensure resources every quarter are consumed at maximum effectiveness. In this position, you will also be expected to follow your main responsibilities with operationalizing and cultivating a more data-driven planning process and improved monthly and quarterly reporting. In this role, you will be directly involved in the coordination of various planning cycles (annual planning, quarterly forecasts and monthly outlooks), while providing strategic analyses and recommendations. You will provide variance analysis of bookings, revenues and expenses, clearly explaining the business reasons for variances and adjusting the outlook models to reflect operational adjustments. This Financial Analyst role, which is located in the Monterey, California, is a full-time employment opportunity.

Your responsibilities in this role

- Flexible individuals comfortable with large amounts of information, and adept at managing expectations

- Drive Area/Segment-level Bookings on a weekly, quarterly and annual basis, as well as P& L forecasting

- Understand and be able to explain internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending

- Enable effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support

- Work with the Accounting team on monthly and quarterly financial close processes

- Collaborate with senior executives on strategic deep dives on creating financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, event tracking and execution, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, and strategic resource allocation, and prioritization

- Analyze performance to date and assess potential risks and opportunities

- Track of monthly and quarterly performance by comparing actuals versus expectations to ensure business partners handle their resources r

- Work closely with cross functional partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans

- Assemble and review forecasting reports

- Drive monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required

Requirements

- BA/BS degree in finance or a related field

- Excellent oral and written communications skills

- Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience preferable)

- Deep understanding of Annual Financial Reporting

- Account analysis experience desired

- Public Accounting experience required

- Background in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly valued (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

- 3+ years of experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

- Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

- Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools experience a plus

- Ability to simplify complex problems and build solutions

- Spreadsheet and ERP system experience recommended
