Requirements

Description/Comment:


  • The Financial Analyst I performs financial analyses (e.g., client level profitability, variance comments, trend analysis, financial statement accuracy, asset expenditures, etc.) across various products and sector groups.

  • He/she compiles and prepares reports, graphs, charts, and written financial summaries.

  • This position performs general finance and accounting processes including researching, analysing, creating, and processing monthly journal entries.

  • The Financial Analyst I supports a defined operational group and communicates with various management levels.

  • He /She acts as the key Finance and Accounting liaison with the Operations team in areas of financial training, general financial statement support, client pricing efforts, General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), internal controls (e.g., revenue recovery, Accounts Receivables [AR], audits, billing adjustments, etc.), forecasting, and annual budgeting.

  • The Financial Analyst I reports to the managers and/or supervisors.         

  • He/she supports the administration of data and creates reports that help management assess performance results and create business plans.

  • This position gathers and compiles information into standard and custom reports.

  • In addition, handles various database and reporting tasks, ad hoc requests, as well as maintenance of sales projection reports.

  • This position includes responsibility for Business Intelligence (BI) development to include data modelling and dashboard development.

  • Also, will be currently evolving our BI effort at The UPS Store which will help develop much needed predictive analysis for the organization.

  • Responsibilities and Duties Analyses and formats data deliverables (e.g., dashboards, reports, spreadsheets, etc.) to provide users with meaningful and interpretable information

  • Utilizes advanced data retrieval methods (e.g. SQL queries, stored procedures, SQL jobs) to create and run queries efficiently Works with parallel databases and processes parallel queries

  • Generates reports and presentations for senior management to help identify trends, service failures and support for operational planning decisions

  • Engages with senior management to translate data-driven insights into decisions and actions

  • Consults with internal customers (e.g., department management, etc.) and clarifies information needs (e.g., actual versus scheduled volume delivered, etc.) to ensure data provided meets expectations
