Based in the Charlottesville, Virginia area, this opening for a Finance Manager is a full-time position. Responsibilities include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. The ideal candidate for this position can effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. The Finance Manager serves on the leadership team and assists with strategic direction. The Finance Manager is responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting and the management of complex business processes. Responsibilities: Demonstrates effective leadership through a commitment to standards, policies, procedures, and code of ethical behavior. Ensures department goals are aligned with the organization’s strategic direction. Ability to deliver executive level presentations to a wide array of audiences. Balances and prioritizes workloads to meet objectives. Empowers team members to assume ownership for tasks and processes while maintaining accountability for results. Demonstrates ability to be a resource or subject matter expert to other business units and customers, around accounting, finance, health and welfare, and compliance matters. Supports innovation and organizational change through continuous improvement. Responsible for all audits (SOX, internal audit, KPMG, DCAA/DCMA) Responsible for providing information related to DCAA, SOX, and KPMG audit requests. Proactively communicates with stakeholders regarding expectations and results. Recognizes risk areas and develops a strategy for managing risk. Develops talent and coaches others to develop capabilities. Mentors employees, evaluates staff work and performance, and provides formal feedback and evaluations for merit reviews as required. Creates a positive and engaged employee culture by recognizing and rewarding staff members for achievements. Collects, analyzes, and reports key financial data, including monthly performance metrics, to the senior executives.

Requirements

Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field CPA is a must Knowledge of GAAP 3+ years in a leadership position 7+ years experience in operational accounting or related accounting field Understanding of internal controls standards and guidance including generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS) and internal controls requirements associated with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to oversee budget and forecasting processes Please send resumes to [Click Here to Email Your Resumé].
