Finance Business Lead/SME

Description

Act as Finance Business Lead and Finance subject matter expert in the planning, design and implementation of finance-related systems, business processes and capabilities, working with project teams in support of large scale critical business initiatives.





Specifically, these duties include:

  • Develop Finance business requirements, including process flows, business rules, information/data, controls & reporting
  • Work with IT to properly interpret business requirements and trace to their system requirements to confirm no gaps
  • Resolve business issues with other business partners (cross-functional) & IT, including formulating Decision Memos (as appropriate)
  • Prepare Finance teams for implementation (Operational Readiness), including coordination of SOPs & training (as appropriate)
  • Create an Accounting manual with accounting flows (for relevant projects)
  • Execute User Acceptance Testing in coordination with SME's, including building Finance test scenarios and resolving identified defects



Job requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Accounting Information Systems or Finance
  • 8-10 years of leadership experience in Financial Accounting or Internal Audit environment, including financial statement preparation & analysis, internal controls, and exposure to all Accounting operations and computerized systems in a complex environment
  • Proficiency in Accounting or Auditing to assess the financial process implications of business strategies, monitor and ensure compliance with financial policies & procedures, ensuring the accuracy of financial data within end-to-end business processes
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale, complex change efforts and projects, including the design, development, and implementation of business capabilities (experience with Software Development Life Cycle project implementations)
  • Must possess a sound knowledge of the insurance/managed care industry practices and regulatory considerations

Requirements
