Accountemps is working with a fast-growing, dynamic team looking for a Financial Analyst who will be a key business partner in forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. This role is with a company in the Commercial Bank industry. This Financial Analyst role is based in the Roanoke, Virginia, area and is a long-term temporary-to-full-time employment opportunity. To succeed in this Financial Analyst position, you will need to be comfortable with conducting financial modeling on various financial products, as well as measuring, analyzing and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans. Among the Financial Analyst's other duties will be advising management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives and preparing reports for management. Your responsibilities in this role - Adaptable individual experienced in analyzing large amounts of information and managing expectations - Enable effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support - Discover the root causes of internal and external facts that are influencing performance and outcomes - Work with contacts in Accounting and Operations to support business plans - Contribute to weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P&L forecasting - Track monthly and quarterly performance through comparison of actuals versus expectations and enable business partners to handle their resources - Research performance to date and assess potential risks and opportunities - Present and monitor forecasting reports - Work with the Accounting group to lead the monthly and quarterly close process - Drive monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required - Function next to senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization

Requirements

- Spreadsheet and ERP system experience recommended - Understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required - Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations - Skills in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly desired (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role) - BA/BS degree in finance or a related field - Strong problem solving and analytical skills - Financial analysis & planning (go-to-market experience preferable) - Strong communication skills and able to receive criticism well - Banking Industry experience - Alternative dispute resolution experience preferred - Strong familiarity with chargebacks
