Desktop Support Technician
for our full-service banking centers – LOCATED IN THE, DOWNTOWN GALVESTON BANKING CENTER, JOB (#15-20)




The Desktop Support Technician is primarily responsible for the support, administration, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, software, and associated peripherals. Duties of this position include the installation, configuration, and support of operating systems and applications; participation in remote site administration; and production support activities. Specific duties include:

Duties and Responsibilities:





  1.   Set up, maintain and troubleshoot Windows / Android / iOS tablets

  2. Install and configure desktop software

  3. Set up and configure printers, scanners, and other peripherals

  4. Document all issues and resolution steps using the help desk ticketing system

  5. Maintain inventory of all hardware spares.

  6. Maintain excellent communication with all end users and other members of the IT department.

  7. Work with outside vendors as needed.

  8. Regularly answer Help Desk phone calls.

  9. Execute other assigned tasks as delegated by team.

  10. Participation in project activities involving computers, iPads/tablets, phones, printers or any other computing device.

  11. Perform other duties as assigned.



Requirements



Education: Associate degree or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school.







Minimum Experience: 3-4 years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience required.







Skills and Abilities: Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.  Ability to work independently or with a group.  Must have problem solving ability.  Attention to details and the ability to prioritize.  Candidate must have extensive working knowledge of PC’s. Excellent written skills.  Candidate should be able to work with limited supervision required.  Ability to communicate effectively and with clients over the phone.  Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.




TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Competency in installing, diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware and software on PCs and related equipment.  2 years Windows Desktop Operating   Systems; 2 years working in a Windows-centric mid-level enterprise environment; and 1-year multifunction printer administration.
