Our client, an industry leader, is seeking a Controller through Robert Half Finance to take responsibility for its accounting and clerical department. The ideal Controller candidate will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. The ideal Controller candidate for this position is driven by high expectations. Key responsibilities - Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual - Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis - Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed - Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis - Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective - Act on items beyond formal job responsibilities - Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings collections, and payroll - Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash - Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations - Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports Interested candidates should email their resume to [Click Here to Email Your Resumé]

Requirements

The ideal Controller candidate will have 7+ years experience in managing and/or directing the Accounting function, preferably with a law firm or professional services Other requirements for the Controller position include and are not limited to: ? Bachelor's degree in finance and CPA certification. MBA degree preferred ? Strong computer skills a must including using Excel as an analytical tool ? Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting and analyzing complex documents ? Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities ? Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines ?
