Controller opening for International Company based in Central Virginia! if you have a knack for leading with high standards, positively motivating others, and making critical decisions and have experience taking charge of an accounting department. The ideal candidate for this position can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. The Controller position is a full-time opportunity in the Charlottesville, Virginia region. Key responsibilities - Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations - Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation - Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports - Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed - Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings collections, and payroll - Manage the production of the yearly budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly - Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis - Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities - Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques - Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

Requirements

- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field -Prior Government Contracting experience, including direct knowledge of FAR, CAS, DCAA compliance and incurred costs - Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail - Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required - Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines - Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment - Knowledge of financial reporting - Month end closings experience - Deep understanding of government contracts - Budget forecasting experience desired - Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision - Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing - CPA or MBA preferred - Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds - Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued - 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred - Detailed and have the ability work independently -Prior knowledge Deltek Costpoint preferred Please submit resume to [Click Here to Email Your Resumé] for immediate consideration.
