Robert Half Finance is searching for an ambitious Controller eager to join the team at a reputable Energy/Natural Resources company. This leadership role oversees an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. Based in the Cypress, California area, this opening for a Controller is a full-time position. Responsibilities - Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective - Check deliverables of self and team to certify they meet client expectations - Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities - Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques - Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll - Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports - Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly - Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis - Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals - Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required

Requirements

- The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills - Demonstrated knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) - Command of budget forecasting - Adeptness in Microsoft Excel - Deltek Costpoint experience - Earlier work involving Aerospace Defense - Foundational knowledge in CPA - Proficiency in US GAAP - Background working with financial auditing - Practical knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) - General familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR) - Solid understanding of DFARS - Auditing experience highly preferred - Good understanding of National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (NADCAP) - Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired - Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field - Strong communication and social skills - Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred - Vow to meet business deadlines - Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations - Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity - Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued - CPA or MBA preferred - Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities For confidential consideration, please email your resume in MS Word format to Brittany Chapman at [Click Here to Email Your Resumé] or call Brittany at (562) 356-1031.
