Robert Half Direct is seeking a Controller for an established Medical Practice to develop accounting policies and oversee all financial procedures. As a Controller, you will monitor the company’s financial status, review quarterly and annual budgets and manage accounting transactions. To be successful in this role, you will have in-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience with risk management. Ultimately, you will ensure compliance with accounting regulations, maximize profits and mitigate risks. This position will report to the CEO and Treasurer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Responsible for monthly closings of company’s accounts and management reporting • Manages annual external audit financial audit • Prepares journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows and other reports as required by Senior Management • Supports company’s Senior Management on development and implementation of corporate wide strategy • Manager, recommends/implements new and/or modifications to company internal control procedures • Facilitates and consolidates annual budget and monthly forecasting process • Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings • Effective collaboration with Treasurer related to accounting duties required to support cash management, collections, payments, inventory and asset custody • Identifies and recommends process and systems improvements and best practices within the accounting function and broader company as appropriate • Special projects as directed by Senior Management and Executive Management • Responsible for building controller team as business grows including identifying and hiring top quality staff in collaboration with Human Resources.

Requirements

• 3+ years of accounting/ finance experience • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or progressing towards a CPA accreditation • Public accounting experience preferred • Experience working in fast pace rapidly growing smaller company directly or as an audit engagement preferred • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Must have strong Microsoft Office skills ( Excel, PP, Word ) • Must have experience with QuickBooks Online® or QuickBooks Desktop® software
