The leadership position is responsible for an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. You will join the leadership team in supporting the generation of innovative ideas that are sound and progressive, challenging the status quo, and fostering creativity in your department. The Controller position is a full-time opportunity in the Houston, Texas region. Responsibilities - Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll - Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective - Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time - Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required - Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management - Reviews deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations - Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners - Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis - Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts - Occasionally perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities To be considered for this position please forward all resumes to [Click Here to Email Your Resumé]

Requirements

- Great attention to detail - Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field - Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision - Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment - Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred - Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills - Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued - Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines - Excellent communication and organizational skills - 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred - Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds - Audited Financial Statements experience - Annual Audited Financial Statements experience highly desired - Month end closings experience required - Comprehensive knowledge of Accrual Accounting - Proficiency in Analyze Financial Statements
