Robert Half Finance has a client in the Architecture industry seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic Controller to join their esteemed company. In this leadership position, you will direct an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. Based in the Darien, Illinois area, this opening for a Controller is a full-time position. Major responsibilities - Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities - Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month - Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals - Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis - Analyze deliverables of self and team to confirm they meet client expectations - Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis - Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings collections, and payroll - Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection - Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible - Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed - Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies For immediate consideration, please send your resume to Anne Kile at [Click Here to Email Your Resumé]

Requirements

- Expertise in financial statement preparation - Proficiency in project accounting - Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings - Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines - Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued - Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills - Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred - Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment - Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field - Self-starter and strong ethical standards - Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening) - Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement - CPA/MBA preferred - Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations For immediate consideration, please send your resume to Anne Kile at [Click Here to Email Your Resumé]
