CFS of New York is working with a higher education client who has an upward growth opportunity for their next Controller. Our client is located in Essex County, New Jersey and this role is deemed partially remote

• Our client is a University the was founded 80+ years ago serving a diverse population of all ages that provides excellent liberal arts education

• They have 2,000+ students enrolled and have over 200 full time employees.

• This role reports to the VP of Finance and the University has a small accounting team

Responsibilities as the Controller


• Hands-on Full cycle accounting, including helping put in cost saving measures

• Working with grants, funds, and budgeting for their endowment

• Help automate processes

• Supervising staff that produce financial reports, making sure its timely and compliant

• Month-end close Audits

Qualifications of the Controller


• 3+ years experience

• Bachelors degree is a must

• Non-Profit And/or higher-education experience is a plus

• Strong Excel Skills
