A current opening through Robert Half Finance, seeks an ambitious, determined Controller to join the team at a prominent SaaS startup company. In this leadership position, you will direct an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. Based in the New York, New York area, this opening for a Controller is a full-time position. How you will make an impact - Inspect deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations - Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties - Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques - Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash - Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports - Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required - Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation - Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis - Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll - Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis If interested in learning more please email me your resume: [Click Here to Email Your Resumé]
- Strong attention to detail - Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision - Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations - Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills - Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required - Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred - Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field - Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) - SOX experience - Command of NetSuite - Financial reporting experience preferred - Adeptness in Accounts Receivable (AR) - Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings - Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines - Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity - CPA or MBA preferred - Excellent verbal and written communication skills
