Robert Half Finance is seeking an ambitious Controller to become a vital part at an esteemed services company. This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. Based in the Sasualito, California area, this opening for a Controller is a full-time position. How you will make an impact - Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis - Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required - Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques - Ensure client satisfaction by reviewing deliverables of self and team - Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll - Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash - Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities - Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month - Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation - Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

Requirements

- Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement - 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred - Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds - Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment - CPA/MBA preferred - Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills - Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required - Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills - Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines - Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company - Prior work done in public accounting is desired - Adeptness in Qualifications Bachelors Degree - Solid understanding of Commercial Property Management - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel - Yardi experience preferred - CPA experience highly desired - REIT experience is a plus - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field *** Our client offers a beautiful work environment and beautiful views of the bay.
