Exciting opportunity for a Chief Financial Officer with our locally held, family owned group of businesses looking to further solidify their overall business processes. Our client is looking for an individual with an extensive tax background, history of proven investment acumen, and a collaborator to assist the family as they continue to grow their businesses. As holders of multiple financial investments, operating entities and real property holdings, the CFO will need to be a dynamic and skilled individual to occupy this executive role directly reporting to the Family Business CEO. This role will manage and advise on all aspects of the family's financial interests, providing analysis and building comprehensive reporting in order to optimize decision making. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Analyze and summarize current as well as historical family financial data in order to develop a financial reporting system for all family entities and the family enterprise as a whole • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, statements of net worth, income statements, budgets, cash flow statements, and estate plan summaries • Generate quarterly taxable income projections, tax accruals, and state withholding tax estimates • Oversee or prepare all K-1's and family tax returns, managing external CPAs as needed • Research innovative tax structures and work with experts to optimize unique solutions for the family • Collaborate with operating business leadership as needed to gather data, forecast cash flows and bring a global perspective to strategic planning • Evaluate and assess business and investment opportunities through a tax lens, working closely with external investment advisors on strategy, asset allocation and structuring unique opportunities • Serve as direct point of contact for outside resources such as investment advisors, CPAs, Bankers, Attorneys, Insurance providers, etc. To be considered for an interview, qualified applicants must have: • 4-year business related degree from an accredited university - CPA strongly preferred • Significant corporate, individual and investment partnership tax experience – family tax planning preferred • Technologically adept in order to create cost effective systems for information sharing and analysis • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and connect the dots across multiple areas • Clear communicator with excellent written, presentation skills and strong interpersonal skills who is detail oriented, highly motivated, and a self-starter • Demonstrated ability to use tact, discretion, confidentiality and good judgment in handling sensitive and confidential matters and documentation This is an excellent opportunity with a well-respected organization!
