Business Analyst- Midland, TX Reporting to the Regional Operations Controller (?Ops Controller?), the Financial Analyst - Business Operations will be an on the ground resource to assist the Ops Controller in partnering with the business Operations to provide meaningful and timely analysis to help drive Operational decisions and efficiencies. In addition, the role will be responsible for the following tasks: ? Work in partnership with Accounting/Finance and Operations teams on the analysis of operating activities and results ? Work in partnership with the District Managers ensuring delivery tickets are created timely; assist/compile month-end revenue accruals for Ops Controller to review ? Ensure that Delivery Tickets and Purchase Orders are being created and coded in a timely manner; identifying any weak links where training is necessary ? When training needs are identified, coordinate with the Ops Controller and others to ensure the training is provided in a timely manner ? Work with DMs in accumulating monthly flash estimates ? Review overtime reports and expenses with the DMs and Geo Manger ? Understand key cost drivers and make recommendations to Ops Controller ? Provide variance analysis for actual results vs. budget, forecast or prior year ? Partner with Ops Controllers in preparing CER?s and Financial models ? Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts ? Analyze and monitor Regional capital expenditures ? Interface with Purchasing in Houston; including validation of open PO report and delivery of fixed assets ? Required Minimum Qualifications ? Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance ? 5-7 years of Public Accounting or industry experience in Financial Reporting/Accounting/FP A ? Knowledge of US GAAP ? Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills ? Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills ? Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment ? Travel required up to 30% Preferred Qualifications ? Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance ? 6-8 years of related work experience ? CPA/MBA preferred but not required ? Prior Budget/Forecasting experience ? Previous work experience with Financial/Accounting Systems (Hyperion Financial Management ?HFM?, ESSBASE, Microsoft AX Dynamics)
