If you are an outstanding Financial Analyst, you might be right for the position Robert Half Finance is filling for a fast-growing company. In this Financial Analyst position, you will be tasked with measuring, analyzing, and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans and conducting financial modeling on a wide range of financial products. In addition to preparing reports for management, you will help advise management on the distribution of resources to best complete objectives. Forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management will be some of your focus areas as a business partner on this dynamic team. As the Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting world class strategic and financial planning reporting methods, building long-range operating plans to support business imperatives and developing rolling forecast processes to ensure resources every quarter are consumed at maximum effectiveness. On top of your primary responsibilities, you will also assist with operationalizing and cultivating a more data-driven planning process and improved monthly and quarterly reporting. In this role, you will be directly involved in the coordination of various planning cycles (annual planning, quarterly forecasts and monthly outlooks), while providing strategic analyses and recommendations. You will provide variance analysis of bookings, revenues and expenses, clearly explaining the business reasons for variances and adjusting the outlook models to reflect operational adjustments. This Financial Analyst role is located in the Charlottesville, Virginia, and it is a full-time employment opportunity. ? Drafts, reviews and approves all financial statements and supporting documentation produced by the Department and external financial statement preparer before submitting the statements to the Benefits Accounting Manager for review. ? Oversees the census data testing for the audit. This includes planning and organizing the process, ensuring that all vendors are meeting deliverables, and responding to any compliance issues that are identified during the testing. Reports progress and results to Accounting Manager to then report to Corporate. ? Works with external financial statement preparer to understand new accounting pronouncements and financial statement impact, if any. ? As directed by the Accounting Manager works with the company?s external vendors and auditors as needed to monitor compliance for benefit plan audits. This includes participating in a working group to actively resolve long outstanding compliance issues that impacts retirees and the health and welfare plans, including newly acquired plans. ? Assists manager with daily operations of the department to include the development, analyses, and implementation of training and scheduling. Works as a member of special or on-going projects that are important to area/process improvements. ? Provides continual evaluation of processes and procedures. Investigates, documents, and resolves problems and complaints. ? Uses appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding department, employee, or business unit concerns. ? Supports the Accounting Manager in communicating various tasks to employees and vendors, as needed. Maintains a positive and professional work environment by fostering an environment of continuous improvement, creative thinking and best practices. Responsible for suggesting methods to improve area operations, efficiency and service to both internal and external customers.

Requirements

Required: ? A minimum of five years of experience and/or training in trust accounting and health and welfare benefit plans ? Significant, demonstrable experience preparing financial statements ? Excellent and professional verbal and written communication skills to include presentation skills ? Excellent critical-thinking, analytical, organizational, and communication skills ? Ability to manage timelines and meet tight deadlines ? Strong customer service focus ? Strong attention to detail ? Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and significant experience in their application ? Skills in research and interpretation ? Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or equivalent ? Willingness and availability to travel as required (less than 20% of the time) Preferred: ? MS Office Suite with Advanced MS Excel skills ? Experience in interfacing with all levels of Finance staff and management at both the Division and Corporate level ? CPA strongly preferred ?
