I have an amazing multi-strategy private equity investment firm which, together with its affiliates, has over $10 billion of assets under management. With 20 years of experience investing as a firm in the private markets, this firm seeks to generate strong, risk-adjusted returns by focusing opportunistically on market niches. Their investment products include multi-manager funds, direct investment funds and customized separate accounts targeting specific areas of compelling opportunity. The Firm's core investment strategies include distressed and special situations, distressed real estate, small business and emerging markets. The client has institutional investment knowledge, sector immersion approach and longstanding relationships provide access to compelling investment opportunities within each of its targeted strategies.

Boston
This is an associate level position with Small Business Team, a $2.0 billion platform focused on investing in private equity funds and companies in the small and lower middle market. The individual will be primarily responsible for supporting the investment team in the overall management of the platform including monitoring existing investments and supporting the investment process for new investments. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing and monitoring existing fund investments, co-investments and manager relationships
  • Sourcing and conducting due diligence on prospective investment opportunities
  • Compiling performance data
  • Database management
  • Performing portfolio analytics and benchmarking
  • Preparing quarterly and annual internal and external reporting documents
  • Generating investment ideas (including primary investments, co-investments, secondary investments)
  • Creating marketing materials
  • Helping with client relationship management


Qualifications: 2-5+ years of relevant work experience, investment banking or private equity experience preferred.
Required Skills: This position requires a detail-oriented, entrepreneurial, self-starter with a passion for the investment business. In addition, the individual must have:

  • Outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Significant modeling and accounting experience
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment
  • Superior work ethic
  • Strong proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word
