Robert Half Finance has an exceptional opportunity for a full-time Accounts Payable Specialist to join the team at a recognized company in the Manufacturing industry. Your responsibilities as the Accounts Payable Specialist will include matching, batching, and coding invoices, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L, and processing checks. You will have an opportunity for career growth and advancement within this dynamic department. The job site for the full-time Accounts Payable Specialist is in the Newport News, Virginia area.
Major responsibilities
- Execute additional tasks as needed
- Assist with internal and external audits as needed
- Provide support to internal business partners
- Provide administrative assistance to the AP/Finance Department
- Open, sort, and distribute daily department mail
- Maintain proper storage of invoices, checks, and other documents by organizing, logging, scanning, and filing them
- Verify, log and mail checks, including expediting special handling
- Manage full-cycle A/P
- Carry out daily processes and controls accurately and on time, and ensure compliance with company policies

- 2+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred
- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
- Demonstrated communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds
- Deep understanding of account reconciliation
- Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
- Account analysis experience
- Microsoft Excel experience
- Check Runs experience
- Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Competent with spreadsheets and databases
