Accountemps is seeking an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk to join a team of highly skilled professionals in a stimulating work environment. The candidate in this role will work closely with and report to the Accounting Manager. Other responsibilities include attending to the general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department,. The main responsibilities will include matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. This Accounts Payable Clerk role will be located in the Upper Marlboro, Maryland area and will be a short-term temporary position. Key responsibilities - Verify, log and send checks, including facilitating special handling - Execute full-cycle A/P - Support the AP/Finance Department by completing administrative tasks - Organize, register, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents - Provide internal and external audit assistance as required - Complete special projects on an as-needed basis - Handle daily department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it - Provide customer service to internal business partners - Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner; ensuring compliance with company policies

Requirements

- Enter Invoices experience - Month end closings experience - Wide ranging experience with government contracts - Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel - General familiarity with Form 1099 - Quality experience with Pivot Table - Well-founded grasp of Review Timesheets - Invoice Entry experience - Proven knowledge of Approved Timesheets - Command of Invoice - Experience with Approved Timesheets - High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills - Prior experience in an A/P role preferred - Spreadsheet and database capabilities - Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds - AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
