Immediate need for an Accounting Manager to work for a dynamic established company located in Culver City.
1Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
2Manage the financial reporting calendar to ensure all relevant deadlines are met.
3Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
4Oversee the accounting procedures for the stores and E-commerce activities, transaction-processing operations (sales audit), and policies and procedures.
1.Multi-site, multi-deposit retail bank account reconciliation and bank card merchant statement review.
2.Payroll and Benefits Accounting
3.Store Lease Accounting
4.Accounts payable check review and preparation.
5.General Ledger Journal Entry Preparation and Review
6.Assistance with various routine audits
7.Daily cash transfer and other banking and treasury functions
8.Business License Application filing, recurring processing, and maintenance of local, fictitious name filings, etc.
9.Business property taxes.
10Multi Location Sales taxes
Issue timely and complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
1.Directly responsible for the timely completion of the monthly close process.
2.Coordinate the preparation of the corporate tax returns for payroll, sales taxes, etc.
3.Assist in the development and manage the production of the annual budget.
4.Complete monthly variance analysis of actual vs. prior periods and budget.
5.Complete the various periodic reporting requirements (1099's, Census Bureau, Property taxes, etc.) as these arise throughout the year.
1.Coordinate the preparation and delivery of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
2.Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants, monthly borrowing base certificates, bank audits, appraisals, etc.
3.Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Responsible for leading and continuing to develop the Accounting Team including Accounting Staff, Sales Audit, and Accounts Payable. Work directly with, and support other departments such as Merchandising and Distribution, Credit and Collections, Human Resources, and Stores, to ensure appropriate procedures and controls are in place.
Desired Qualifications: The Accounting Manager candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration, and 5+ years of progressively responsible financial management experience. Experience in a retail environment is highly preferable. Public Accounting, CPA or MBA all considered a plus. Strong Communication skills, Highly Computer literate with Microsoft office products; advanced Excel required.
