Accounting Manager If you're looking to work at a successful Retail organization that will recognize your efforts, Robert Half Finance is seeking a talented Accounting Manager to work with a thriving company. This position is for candidates who can lead daily operations, such as preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, and assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The ability to create and monitor the company's accounting and finance operations will be essential for this role. This Accounting Manager role is a full-time employment opportunity, based in the Fowlerville, Michigan area. The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. The Accounting Manager will have contact with the Controller and CFO which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.This position manages all employees of the Accounting department, outside of the Controller and CFO, and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department. Meets accounting financial objectives by forecasting requirements; assist in preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. ? Maintains accounting controls by establishing a chart of accounts; defining accounting policies and procedures. ? Guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy; applying observations and recommendations to operational issues. ? Maintains financial security by establishing internal controls. ? Avoids legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation; enforcing accounting regulations; recommending new procedures. ? Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential. ? Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. ? Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed. ? Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close. ? Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information. ? Assist the Controller in the daily banking requirements. ? Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions. ? Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner. ? Supports budget and forecasting activities. ? Collaborates with the other finance department managers to support overall department

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience - Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred - 5+ years of recent relevant financial experience - Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel - Active problem-solver who listens for customer cues and actively resolves problems with grace and integrity - Exceptional communication skills that provide the ability to interact with all levels of the organization with a high customer service orientation - Demonstrated technology and analytical abilities - Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable
