An established nonprofit with a spiritual and educational focus is seeking a skilled Accountant to manage full-cycle bookkeeping, account reconciliation and budgeting in support of their membership base and auxiliary organizations from Herndon, VA. In this standalone role, the Accountant will perform accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing; oversee cash receipts, prepare monthly journal entries, assist in preparing annual budgets as well as support the Executive Director and Finance Committee with ad hoc reporting and analysis. This individual will have a strong foundation in accounting as well as a caring nature in supporting the members and families with account balance inquiries and resolutions. The Accountant will help support the Office Manager and Director with newsletter mailings and assist with special projects such as seasonal fundraising initiatives. Requirements

Responsibilities & Experience: - 3+ year’s experience in AP, AR, general ledger, payroll processing and reconciliations - Oversee account balances, perform cash receipt deposits, maintain membership database and account record updates - Utilize QuickBooks Online and internal accounting ERP with advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge; Paychex Flex ideal but not required - Manage journal and general ledger entries, expense reports, bank deposits and prepare annual 1099s and 1096 - Ability to provide budgetary scenario, forecasting and ad hoc reports as needed - Bachelor’s in Accounting or a related discipline or CPA highly preferred - Team-oriented attitude and exceptional follow-through in communicating with internal departments, fellow staff, finance committee, members and families ~ Personal and/or philosophical positions need NOT align with the organization to feel at home - individuality and diversity are respected and upheld ~ If you are interested in this position please submit a resume in word format to Sara Laughton at Robert Half at [Click Here to Email Your Resumé] or call Sara Laughton at Robert Half at 703-437-7723, or contact your recruiting manager if you are already working with Robert Half.
