Multi Dealership Group Controller
Creative Financial Staffing has been exclusively retained by a highly reputable Automotive Group to identify a Group Controller in the southern NJ area to join their team. This is a newly created position due to growth. They will offer relocation assistance for candidates outside of Southern New Jersey.
Highlights of the Group Controller Opportunity:
- The Company: Highly reputable automotive group with nearly $350M in revenue. They have 4 dealerships across Southern NJ.
- The Growth: Fast-growing company expanding both through acquisition and organic growth.
- The Exposure: The Group Controller will be expected to provide business and operational analysis, strategic insight, and tactical financial support to be an effective business partner and trusted adviser to the President and senior management team.
The Group Controller's responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversee the financials of 4 locations, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of financial results.
- Preparation and participation in the quarterly operating review
- Preparation of a complete financial statement monthly according to dealership guidelines and within each manufacturer's format and time frame.
- Ensures that all manufacturer accounts, including warranty claims, rebates, interest protection and co-op advertising are current and accurate.
- Interpret the financial statements and the daily operating controls (DOC) regularly and inform dealer of developing trends.
- Closely monitor potential risk and exposure in the region's dealerships
- Partner with the GM, Corporate Controller, and President in efforts to enhance operating performance by monitoring dealership financial results to identify areas of opportunity and internal benchmarking.
- Develop and implement business process improvement initiatives and strategies.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance
- 8+ years of experience with 2+ years with a multi-location auto dealership in a Controller or Group Controller position
- Must have oversight of at least 3 locations.
